A creative house
in Austin, Texas.

The Oven was never the first draft. The idea starts in DeKalb, Illinois, in a room called Rising Sun that ran twice the size of anything that came after. David Click came to Austin and started over inside Earphoria, a music hostel with an urban garden, where he built a recording studio into a building that was never meant to hold one. That was the sketch. The Oven was the finished version.

Ten years on the east side. One room that grew into a 350-cap studio, rehearsal space, live venue, broadcast station, production house, and creative agency, for years one of two rooms in the city open all night. Sara Landry came through it. So did Frankie J, and the warehouse nights, drum and bass, jungle, techno, and whatever had not been named yet, that ran until the city woke up.

The gear is real and stays real. The Midas M32 that David mixed The Wailers on is still in the racks, and it still rides out with the mobile rig. The station streams the music that came out of the building, around the clock.

There is a new headquarters now, at an address that stays quiet: recording, private lessons, private events, and home base for the broadcast studio. More rooms are going up across Austin, and the rig works shows around the city while the hunt for the ultimate venue continues. Cooler Productions opens this fall.

And the part most people miss: The Oven builds studios for other artists too. Not the records. The rooms, the acoustics, the reason a space sounds like anything at all.

"The only thing missing is the Grammy."

So let's fire it up!

Bring the song, the idea, the unfinished project, the vocal, the mix, the lesson, the show, or the dream that needs a plan. We record it, rehearse it, film it, stream it, mix it, master it, teach it, and help you finish it.
